An Oldie

I pulled a photo from the archives to share tonight. It was a busy day with work, going to a movie with Judy T. and Micah, and then back out to the house for some dinner and visiting. Not a single picture was taken today.

This picture was taken for my dad. He is a John Deere enthusiast, and he's helped Riley develop a love of all things green (and yellow). The little tractor in the photo is actually the first riding lawn mower that J.D. ever made, a 110. Dad took the front end of it off and put a tricycle front end on it to make it look like a tractor. This mower was a big bucket of rust when he bought it, which you can see in the collage photo (this collage is actually printed big and framed in Riley's room). Dad restored it for Riley a couple of years ago for Christmas, and it looks brand new. For Father's Day a couple of years ago, Dad requested that I recreate the "You Been Farmin' Long" photo of the two little "farmers" in overalls. I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about, right? Anyway, this is our version with Bailey and Riley. Dad has a copy of the photo in his office at P.I., along with lots of other photos of the kids and all of his J.D. memorabilia.

I love these photos of my boy. They show him in all of his little boy glory. Look at that filthy little face. He climbed up and straddled that tractor and proceeded to check the gas tank for gas (top left picture). At that point, an empty gas tank was the least of this little tractor's worries! This collage is printed BIG and framed on Riley's bedroom wall.
