A Day In The Lowcountry

Today was spent out on the river. We packed a picnic lunch and the fishing poles, and we all piled onto my brother's pontoon boat for a day of high adventure. Some of us had more luck than others in the fishing department, but surely I MUST have set the world record for the biggest shark caught with a Spongebob fishing pole!! Actually, all of the shark that we caught were small (Thank you, Jesus!), but they were the most popular catch of the day. My dad snagged a stingray and a shark at the same time, and that was pretty cool. The kids enjoyed seeing the stingray (or Dingray, as Hayden called it) and sharks. Hmm...then there was a blowfish and two whiting, and that was about it. Needless to say, we didn't dine on our catch tonight. We had chicken!

I haven't gone through all of my pictures yet, but I'll share a few that I have edited tonight.

I was suprised to see your mom, then I was even more suprised to see her without her big orange life vest. LOL

Wonderful pictures, Mr. Ri looked like he was in his element.

You can have the sharks...but I will take some of the fun! Glad you all had a great day.

I was laughing so hard when I saw Ms. Nancy with her big orange life vest on!!!! You know I love ya Ms. Nancy!!! You are too funny though. I am so glad that you finally decided to take it off even if it was to pull the big one in!!! LOL.

I am sure that your mom is going to kill you for posting that, but after today, I really needed a good laugh!!

I love being in the river!! There is just something about having that salt air on your face!! AHHHH!!

Ri is so handsome. He could be on one of the fishing shows one day!!

Great fun, great fishing, great family---what more can a body ask for. We haven't been shark fishing in a long time. Too bad you didn't cook any. Shark fillets are great on the grill!
